2006: Ben Alexander

This past Saturday, recruits traveled from various parts of the state to attend North Carolina's Junior Day. However, few could compete with the four and a half hour drive up I-85 Ben Alexander and his father endured. Regardless, the Anderson (S.C.) T.L. Hanna product felt it was worth the trip.

"I really liked it a lot," stated Alexander. "I liked the campus. I went out on the practice field when they were practicing it seemed like a good atmosphere where I would fit in. I overall thought it was pretty nice."

For the most part, Alexander is open with no clear cut favorites, but he does like North Carolina and the opportunity the school presents. Still, the 6-foot-1, 288-pound defensive tackle would like to make a second visit to Chapel Hill this summer to get a better feel for the campus and also talk to the coaching staff more in-depth.

"I like North Carolina," remarked Alexander. "I'd like to go back for their [summer] camp and look at the campus a little bit more and have a one-on-one with the coaches instead of like a group."

Alexander also plans to camp at Texas, Florida State, and Clemson.

On his way to being named to his second All-Area and All-Region teams, Alexander recorded 77 tackles including 30 for a loss and seven sacks last season.
