"I actually went to the Duke and Miami game first," Ellington told Inside Carolina of his Thursday night itnerary. "We left at halftime and went to the UNC game against Florida State and it was a lot of fun."
In addition to North Carolina and Duke, Ellington also lists Villanova, UConn, Wake Forest, N.C. State, Kansas and Arizona as schools that he has interest in. However, this trip was primarily to check out what North Carolina had to offer and from the sounds of it Ellington enjoyed his first real taste of Tar Heel basketball.
"It was good, it was really good," said Ellington. "I liked the facilities, the atmosphere and the area were great and I liked the coaches."
The trip also gave Ellington a chance to spend some time with Roy Williams and from the sounds of it, Williams made a favorable impression.
"I was able to spend a lot of time with him," said Ellington. "He really seems like a pretty good person as well as a good coach."
As for his spring and summer plans Ellington is looking forward to one last run with the Playaz Basketball Club but hasn't decided on which shoe camp to attend. He isn't going to admit to a favorite just yet, but he would also like to fit in some official visits over the next few months in hopes of ending his recruitment by late spring or early summer.
"North Carolina is definitely on the official visit list and Wake Forest is on there as well," said Ellington when asked if there were any schools that were sure to receive official visits.
"I probably just need a couple of more visits to see what things are like at other places."
