In addition to his family ties, Randall also sees other positives in the North Carolina football program.
"Generally I want to stay in the South," said Randall. "I lived in Indiana ten years of my life so I know how cold it can get.
"As far as the facilities go I really have only seen Carolina's and a little bit of ECU's and both of them were outstanding facilities. Once I see others and have more to compare to I'll have a better idea of what schools I like."
Randall, who has attended junior days at UNC, ECU and N.C. State, figures to take a big step in his college research this week. He plans to spend his entire spring break on campus visits to William & Mary, Wake Forest, and again Chapel Hill with his brother.
Additionally, Randall plans to include trips to North Carolina and East Carolina on his summer camping schedule.
Although basketball isn't in his future after high school, Randall also plays center for Rose and is debating throwing the discus this spring. On the football field, Randall earned Second Team All-Conference honors after a junior season that ended with 60 tackles including 7.5 sacks and 10 tackles for a loss.
Randall is also an excellent student owning a weighed GPA of 4.5 and a SAT score of 1380.
