Charity Auction - UPDATE!

<i>Inside Carolina</i> is proud to announce our latest charitable effort. We are auctioning off a basketball signed by the entire 2004-05 team and coaching staff and all the proceeds will go to great local causes. <b>UPDATE: A second signed ball has been added to the auction, the proceeds of which will go to the Avon Breast Cancer Walk - Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. <i>Current high bid: $3,000</i></b>

The Bidding: We will begin receiving bids immediately -- bidding started at $100. The auction will continue as long as the Tar Heels stay alive in the NCAA Tournament. The Charity: Volunteers for Youth is a private, nonprofit, United Way organization that has been making a difference for young people in Orange County, N.C. since 1982. Through mentoring programs, community service projects, and recreational activities, Volunteers for Youth reaches out to local youngsters at risk of school failure, substance abuse, or delinquency. Each time a child forms a lifelong and sustaining relationship with a caring adult and each time a young person in trouble learns important job skills through special training sessions, the whole community takes a step forward.
