Inside Carolina – Kyle, why did you choose UNC?
Kyle Ralph – It fulfilled a dream that I have always had. I grew up watching Carolina Basketball. When I made my visit I just loved the players, loved the coaching staff, loved the town. I just loved everything about it.
IC – Tell us about your visit.
Ralph – I had a fantastic time. Meeting the players was great. Drew Hunter was my host. I met just about all of the freshmen offensive linemen.
IC – What did you think of Coach Bunting?
Ralph – Coach Bunting was very straight forward. He doesn't promise you a lot of things like coaches at some places do. Coach Bunting did say that he thought that I might have a chance to start at Left Tackle next year but that at Carolina everyone has to earn their spot.
IC – Have you met the new offensive line coach, Coach Hunter?
Ralph – I haven't met him but I have talked to him on the phone. He seemed like a really nice guy and from talking to him, I think he knows what he is doing too.
IC – Who were some of the players that you have met?
Ralph – (in addition to Drew Hunter) I met Arthur Smith, Brian Chacos, Jason Brown, Chase Page and Adam Metts. There were others but I can't remember all their names.
IC – What is the best part of your game?
Ralph – The combination of my footwork and strength is good. Also I think my versatility is really good. I have played every position on the offensive line.
IC – What is it like being an offensive lineman?
Ralph – The offensive line is like its own society within the team. I think offensive linemen have the most fun of any of the positions.
IC – Do you think you will come down for summer session this year?
Ralph – Probably not this year. They want me to be down by July 28th. I want to play in some all-star games this summer.
IC – Do you plan to play in the Big 33 (Ohio/Pa all-star game)?
Ralph – Yes. That is one of the games I plan on playing in.
