Felton also ripped down eight rebounds, giving him an impressive 9.1 rebounds/game for the season. His seven assists, two blocks and six steals against Britton's Neck helped lead Latta to a 22-3 record for the season and a perfect mark in their region with one game remaining at Lake View (SC) on Thursday night.
Asked about nearing the end of a stellar high school career at Latta, Raymond responded, "It's emotional, but it's also exciting. What better way can you go out when you win [Latta's] sixth straight region title, you've got a winning season, playing with a great group of guys… I mean, what other way would you want to leave! I hate to leave but I'd rather leave in a positive way than a negative way."
Concerning his plans on getting to the campus in Chapel Hill after the school year, Felton said, "I'm going to go into the second session in June. I'll be around [Latta] until the end of June — June 23rd is when I leave. I'm going to take some classes but I'm going to concentrate on getting stronger, getting better."
Raymond plans on majoring in business administration once he gets to Carolina.
The Felton Watch:
Felton is now within one game's offensive production of breaking the all-time South Carolina career points record of 2,695, set by Hartsville's (SC) Roderick Blakeney from 1990 – 1994, according to Coach Stephen Smith. Felton could surpass Blakeney on Thursday night versus Lake View (SC) in an away game.
