Heels Latest to Offer Alexander

Since unofficially visiting Chapel Hill for North Carolina's first junior day, Ben Alexander of Anderson (S.C.) Hanna has had a strong interest in the Tar Heels' football program. However, as the 6-foot-1, 288-pounder's scholarship offers piled up, Alexander waited on a UNC offer before diving deeper into the program. That offer came Thursday night.

"I talked to Coach Powell the other day," said Alexander. "He said he was still evaluating my film. I gave him a call [Thursday night] and he said they were going to offer me a scholarship."

The UNC offer is the latest addition to Alexander's offers sheet which also includes Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Duke, Kentucky, and Auburn.

Although Alexander claims to be completely open with no clear-cut favorites, the Tar Heels seemed to have made a huge impression during his junior day visit.

"To be honest with you, I really like them," said Alexander. "When I came up there to visit, their facilities were awesome. I loved North Carolina. Everybody on the team seemed to be excited to be out there [during spring practice]. They really stood out on my mind."

In addition to his visit to Chapel Hill, Alexander has made unofficial trips to South Carolina, Clemson, and Duke and was in Atlanta this past weekend to checkout Georgia Tech.

Alexander is still in the process of planning his summer camping schedule but admits camping at Chapel Hill is very likely.
