Snow Hill Combine Recap

For the third straight combine Bobby Hatchell of Jacksonville left with the best forty-yard dash time. But this time the speedster blazed the field for jaw-dropping times of 4.15 and 4.26 seconds – on grass. Deunta Williams of White Oak and Southwest Onslow teammates Kendric Burney and Dekota Marshall also put up solid combine numbers.

Combine's Top Five Performances


E.J. Armstrong, WR, New Bern, 6'0", 160 lbs.

Armstrong quietly had the best performance of the day posting the top times in the 20-yard shuttle (4.18 seconds) and vertical jump (36.3 inches). He also ran a 4.42-second 40-yard dash.

Bobby Hatchell, WR, Jacksonville, 5'7½", 150 lbs.

Hatchell had the top two 40-yard dash times of the day -- oh yea they were times of 4.15 and 4.26 seconds on grass. Bobby also ran the 20-yard shuttle in 4.25 seconds, vertically jumped 32½ inches, and rep'd 185 pounds 14 times.

Jared Mitchell, CB, Durham Hillside, 6'2½", 178 lbs.

In addition to posting solid combine numbers, Mitchell looked good in defensive back drills. During the combine, Mitchell recorded a 36-inch vertical jump, a 4.42-second forty, a 4.20-second shuttle, and 17 reps of 185 pounds. 

Dekota Marshall, S, Southwest Onslow, 6'0", 176 lbs.

Marshall is quickly moving into the recruiting radar with every combine performance. Saturday he ran 4.41-second forty, and a 3.30-second shuttle.

Devven Sutton, LB, Northeastern, 6'1", 241 lbs.

Sutton, who is quietly receiving a bunch of recruiting interest, rep'd 185 pounds 39 times -- a combine best. He also posted a 4.50-second shuttle time.
