Heels Watch Senior PF

While Roy Williams had an eye to the future this weekend, focusing on some of the elite players in the Class of 2006 down in Arkansas, UNC assistant Steve Robinson was taking a look at someone that might be able to provide more immediate help.

Canadian big man Theo Davis, a one-time Texas commitment, was playing with Ro Russell's team in Las Vegas.

According to Russell, Robinson was in attendance for at least three of Davis' games over the weekend.

"North Carolina flew in just to see Theo," Russell said. "They told me that they are probably losing Marvin Williams and Sean May – and based on that, now they really need someone like Theo."

Russell said that an official scholarship offer hasn't come yet, but that it might happen in the near future after Roy Williams gets an opportunity to watch Davis play.

Russell said that the other schools in attendance to watch Davis included USC, Arizona State and UNLV. Arkansas and Illinois have also expressed recent interest.

Russell said that Davis' family intends to talk about where he'll take official visits sometime this week.

"He's intrigued by North Carolina, but he's not sure right now," Russell said. "He's trying to find the best opportunity for him to play as a freshman."
