Elleby Chooses UNC

Tabor City (N.C.) defensive tackle Greg Elleby has decided to commit early and follow former teammate Bryan Dixon to North Carolina, according to a report in today's <i>Winston-Salem Journal<i>.

Greg Elleby is UNC's second recruit for 2006, is a 6-5, 286-pound junior at South Columbus High School where he plays for Coach Joey Price, the report states.

East Carolina had offered Elleby a scholarship, Virginia Tech was ready to offer, according to Price, and Virginia was recruiting him seriously.

Elleby has always wanted to play for UNC, Price said, and he quickly accepted Coach John Bunting offer.

"I told him the day Coach Bunting called me and told me that they were going to offer him." Price said. "I told him to go home and think about it and come back and tell me tomorrow. He said, ‘I don't have to think about it.'"
