Pratl Favors Heels

Although Daniel Pratl's focus has been on his academics, he has seen a slight increase in interest from college coaching staffs. North Carolina is one such coaching staff that has recently picked up the pace. However, UNC wants to see Pratl in camp before extending an offer.

"They just basically said they want to keep on talking to me," said Pratl, a 6-0, 235-pound LB?FB from Raleigh (N.C.) Cardinal Gibbons. "What they are sending me now is personal letters instead of the whole fake signed things. Basically they want me to come to their camp and go from there."

In addition to UNC's camp, Pratl will attend camps at Duke, Virginia, Wake Forest, and NC State's team camp.

Despite the lack of a Tar Heel offer, Pratl has decided to name North Carolina as his early favorite.

"I really like UNC," said Pratl. "I like that they are close, and I want to do political science and they have a real good law school. I also know a lot of people on the team – Cori Powell, and I played against [Mark] Paschal."

Pratl most recently spoke to Powell when he attended the Tar Heels Blue-White Spring Game.

"Cori plays fullback – that's what I want to play," said Pratl. "He says it's good because they are getting a lot of depth now. I liked how they used the fullbacks [during the spring game]."

Wofford has verbally offered Pratl, while Duke and Wake Forest have also picked up their recruiting efforts.
