Graves Resurfaces

It's a rarity that a North Carolina commit can basically go AWOL, but that's pretty much what happened with William Graves.

The 6-foot-6, 245-pound Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley High rising senior opted not to play in any tournaments in April and will make his debut with the Charlotte Miners, a Nike-sponsored team, over Memorial Day weekend in Maryland.

How about this star-studded coaching staff that Graves will have working with him.

Bobby Jones, David Thompson and Del Curry.

Not bad.

"They're high on fundamentals," Graves said.

Graves said that one word will be his motto for this summer.

"I want to be more aggressive in taking it to the basket and also get up off the floor quicker," Graves said. "I've been working on getting into shape and working on my jump shot."

"I think if my aggressiveness picks up, my whole game will pick up," he added.

After Memorial Day, Graves said he'll attend Nike Camp and will make tournament stops in Las Vegas, Florida and Los Angeles.
