UNC Offers 2 S.C. Standouts

John Bunting visited reigning S.C. 4A state champion Duncan Byrnes last Thursday, leaving behind North Carolina scholarship offers for two of the Rebels' leading weapons, rising junior quarterback Will Korn and senior athlete Prince Miller.

"Both of these kids are wide open," Byrnes coach Bobby Bentley said. "I had met Coach [Andre'] Powell – he recruits our school well. He had set up the meeting with Coach Bunting, who was very professional and very nice."

Prince Miller, 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, also just received an offer from Florida State to add to a list that along with UNC includes Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Wake Forest and Duke. Miller is also waiting on an offer from Miami.

Miller recorded five interceptions and returned three punts for touchdowns last season for the 13-1 Rebels.

"Prince is the best player I've ever coached, so he's a pretty good player," Bentley said. "He started for two state championship teams. He can play a number of positions – running back, wide receiver, defensive back and punt returner.

And Bunting also threw his name in the hat for 2007 quarterback prospect Will Korn, a 6-3, 200-pounder (pictured at right) who led Byrnes to the title as a sophomore.

Korn passed for over 3,000 yards with 13 touchdowns and rushed for more than 700 yards and 10 scores. Along with UNC, he currently holds offers from Texas, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Clemson.

"He's a player," Bentley said.
