Bunting Announces Huxtable as Def. Coordinator

CHAPEL HILL, NC -- University of North Carolina head football coach John Bunting announced Dave Huxtable as the new defensive coordinator at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon. Jim Fleming, announced earlier in the week as the defensive backs coach, was also introduced.

"I'm excited about becoming defensive coordinator at the University of North Carolina," said Huxtable after being introduced.

One thing he can't be happy about is all the personnel losses from the team, heading into next season, but he isn't making excuses.

"I'm certainly not going to throw up the white flag and start out with an attitude of surrender," remarked Huxtable to the challenge of filling the positions left by departing players. "I think the kids see the door of opportunity."

In order to maintain some continuity, Huxtable plans to continue with a philosophy of multiplicity on defense next season.
