North Carolina and Georgia Tech tied for No. 1 in schedule strength, according to the formula devised by CBS SportsLine.com. That's not exactly a surprise considering Carolina had the second-toughest schedule in 2004, according to the NCAA and was No. 1 in the respected Sagarin Ratings.
Heels coach says brutal schedule builds toughness
USC senior associate AD Shawn Eichorst said discussions are ongoing with North Carolina about scheduling a football series with the Tar Heels, adding that 2007 would be the earliest the series would begin. Eichorst said USC would not fill the two holes in its '06 home schedule until the North Carolina talks wrap up.
