Adams On The Mend

Highly regarded Cary running back Josh Adams had his summer plans take a detour after he tore ligaments in his ankle. He's still not sure if he'll be able to make it in time to camp at his childhood favorite, North Carolina.

"The doctor said it would take about three weeks to heal so I should be ready to go by the time the season starts," Adams said. "I am not sure if I will make it to camp though. I was supposed to go to camp at Carolina with some of my teammates but I'm not sure if my injury will heal by then."

Adams has seen his offer list go up to a dozen but claims no favorites at this point.

"I'm really trying to stay open so I am not naming any favorites," he said. "It will probably be close to Signing Day before I make a decision. I may take some official visits during the season, though I am not sure. I definitely want to catch as many games as I can."

Adams grew up a Tar Heel fan but says that will not be the determining factor.

"I want to look at the entire package; coaching staff, academics, playing time will all be a part of my decision. Distance will not be that much of a determining factor."

Adams vied with Toney Baker for top honors among the state rushing leaders last year and looks for a repeat performance this season.

UNC assistant coach Ken Browning is recruiting Adams.
