Apparently the position changed proved to be beneficial for Taylor.
"Coach [Marvin] Sanders came up to me and said ‘You have an offer,'" said Taylor. "He wants me to come back down there on Tuesday and I will get the official paper then."
Taylor also owns scholarship offers from Wake Forest and Vanderbilt. He is strongly considering all three schools, but admits after attending the camp North Carolina has a slight lead.
"Carolina and Vanderbilt are a bit above Wake right now," said Taylor. "Carolina is probably my top choice right now; closely behind is Vanderbilt, but the distance factor is huge with me.
"I like how Carolina is close it is to home. I like the ACC conference. I feel like that they're really up and coming with their [football] team – with wins last year over Miami and N.C. State. I like their offense, the way they ran Madison Hedgecock this year. And I'm really comfortable with their coaches – they were joking around with me even though that was the second or third time they've ever met me."
Taylor hopes to have a decision made before the beginning of his senior football season.
Preceding the Tar Heels' camp, Taylor attended a one-day camp at Wake Forest. He will wrap up his camping schedule with trips to Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Virginia's lacrosse camp.
