4/26: Matt Doherty watched Ariza at the Kingwood Classic in Houston, Texas this weekend.'s Rob Harrington evaluated Ariza in Houston -- "Ariza is just a jump shot away from true stardom. But that's an important aspect of his game to be missing, and he's missing it entirely. His shot looks fine: his elbow is tucked in, his release fluid and rotation normal. He just doesn't make (or even take) it very often. Jumper aside, virtually everything else is in place. Though not the absolute quickest player off the dribble, Trevor has long arms and is a force on the offensive backboards, and he has an ease about his game on defense that makes him look effortless. He's also a smart passer and unselfish teammate who wants to win. Ariza even showed some post offense using his length to turnaround and shoot over his defender from 10 feet and closer. We suspect that he'll eventually develop that jumper, and that's when he'll really take off." (link)

4/9: IC's Clint Jackson reporting -- "North Carolina is still VERY active in their pursuit of the 6-8, 200 pound combo-forward. Ariza told us that Coach Matt Doherty was on hand personally to watch him work out on his last day of practice in the open period." ... (Heels continue to pursue Ariza)

9/30: IC correspondent Dan Baker reports -- "Trevor Ariza is a slender 6-9 forward who, despite his height, appears to be more of a 3 than a 4. He moves fluidly and plays well in transition. His game is a little passive, but does not lack skills. His size, shot and ability to move will make him a highly recruited player over the next year. With a little more intensity and more range, he's a top-20 player." (Gym Rats Player Analysis)

7/16: From the BruinReportOnline -- "Ariza has also grown a couple of inches within the last year. He's now very effective inside and outside, with some sneaky, athletic moves. Many national scouts already consider him a top 50 national player in his class and if he continues to grow and get stronger, the sky's the limit." (link)

7/12: From Prep -- "At least to us, Trevor Ariza was an unknown heading into camp. The 6-7 WF from Los Angeles (CA) Westchester didn't remain that way for long, however, averaging 19 points per game on the first day. He's a sleek, athletic wing who was able to score by attacking the basket on drives and by running the floor in transition. Most interesting of all, he's only a rising junior." (link)
