Does Richard Quinn have a chance to start?
"I don't see that happening. He's too far behind the other players that are experienced. Jon Hamlett has a ton of experience. Justin Phillips has a lot of experience. But you need more than two tight ends in our offense. We're a two-tight end offense a lot of times and he can do some things to help us."
How have you adjusted things at quarterback since Roger [Heinz'] surgery?
"Well, we haven't had Roger for about three weeks now. So we've been working on that from the get-go, just in case that might happen. Obviously, we're very disappointed this happened to Roger. He's a great kid and has a great family. I think he's going to be absolutely fine at some point. And, that's good; that's No. 1. No. 2, we've been working on the other quarterbacks and they've all been getting a ton of reps – from [Joey] Bozich, to [Bobby] Rome to walk-on players. We're working hard to get that worked out. Hey, maybe I'll have to draft Trimane Goddard – he played quarterback in high school."
When will Cam Sexton be ready?
"I haven't heard. I haven't even asked that question. I'll ask that question after this week's over. Right now that's not important to me. All I care about right now about Cameron Sexton is that he get well. If Cameron Sexton is ready to play, we're going to allow him to compete for the backup [position] – that's exactly what we'll do. But it remains to be seen if he will be healthy enough to do that. But I'm not going to push it; that's why I'm not even thinking about it or talking about it. I ask Cameron every single day, ‘How are you doing? How do you feel?' He says he feels great and that's all I care about. That's where it's going to stay until we get some type of clearance. I will get an update sometime next week about him and Ronnie McGill. Some of these things are less gray than you may think. A certain amount of time has to pass before you can think about putting a guy out there in a drill. When that time comes, we'll see."
How did Heinz' surgery go?
"It went extremely well…very successful. He should be perfectly fine."
What do you like about Garrett White?
"No. 1, attitude. He's got one of the greatest attitudes I've been around as a freshman. He's got a smile on his face all the time. He bounces around. He wants to do whatever he can do to get on the field and help us. He was a linebacker. He's been out playing that ‘DPR' position – designated pass rusher. There's G.White now. ‘Hey Garrett, are you smiling?' You see there? What'd I tell you? He's a neat kid. He's fun to have on this football team."
