Bowman Considering UNC Visit

Navorro Bowman has started to schedule his official visits with trips to Penn State and Virginia Tech already set. Although he lists North Carolina among his final seven schools, the Tar Heels might not receive an official visit from Bowman.

"I've been to North Carolina numerous times," said Bowman. "I've seen their campus and I like the school – don't get me wrong, but there's schools that I haven't been to that I might need to not visit North Carolina and visit them."

In addition to the Heels, Bowman, a 6-foot-2, 218-pound linebacker from Forestville (Md.) Suitland, is considering Tennessee, Ohio State, Illinois, and Florida for his final three official visits. He denies a leader, but plans to have his collegiate decision cleared away in time for his December graduation.

Bowman has unofficially visited Chapel Hill three times. Collectively, Bowman's stays have provided him with a good feel for the campus, the program, and the opportunities the coaching staff will give him as a true freshman next fall.

"North Carolina people are great people," said Bowman. "They're going to give me a chance to go out there and show them what I can do [as a freshman]. I believe, no doubt, I can play anywhere that I want to play, it's just up to me."

Although he stars at both tailback and linebacker for Suitland High School, Bowman is being recruiting strictly at linebacker.

Bowman's senior football season opens on September 10th. As a junior, he collected 165 tackles including nine sacks, and rushed for 1,250 yards and 22 touchdowns.

A four-star prospect, Bowman is the 15th-ranked linebacker in the nation and 87th-ranked recruit in's National Hot 100.
