Maddox Will Visit UNC

The majority of the top twenty prospects in the "Keystone State" have made verbal commitments already. Now, one of the state's top playmakers has narrowed his choices down to five schools and has begun scheduling visits.

Philadelphia (Pa.) West Catholic wide receiver John Maddox (6-2, 170, 4.6) has narrowed his list down to five schools. Maddox holds offers from more then 30 different programs and has visited more then half of those schools. The final five are North Carolina, Michigan State, West Virginia, Syracuse, and Purdue.

"I discussed the top twelve schools with my parents and they looked at each school," Maddox said. "They looked at the depth charts and their graduation rates for athletes and felt as though UNC, Purdue, Syracuse, Michigan State, and West Virginia were the best choices. It was a close call for Rutgers, Pittsburgh, and Akron."

Maddox has begun to schedule his official visits as well, the first trip he has planned is to Chapel Hill.

"I scheduled a visit to North Carolina on September 17," he said.

Maddox, and his West Catholic teammates, opened their season last week with a victory over Roman Catholic. Maddox caught a touchdown pass, but was disappointed.

"I don't think I played as well as I could have, but we won that's what matters,' he said.
