"The coaches said that I would be able to come in and put some pressure on the quarterbacks. They are looking forward to having one of the best recruiting classes coming in next year, and they hope to have me as a part of that. They said I have potential to be a great pass rusher coming off the edge, and I fit well into their defense."
No matter the sport, North Carolina has picked up several recruits from Cardinal Newman and knowing that could be a factor in Drummer's decision.
"They have, and I think it will play some part of it," Drummer said. "As far as coaches being straight out and up front will play a big part of it as well."
With the first trip down, Drummer says the Tar Heels are in his top two with Alabama, which he hopes to visit soon.
"Alabama and North Carolina would be my top two," he said. "Alabama is impressing me a lot this season. They are back winning games and coming out strong in the SEC, 3-0. My recruiting coach is pretty cool, and I have to get in touch with him to talk about (setting up visits).
"I would like to take all my visits during the season to how things go with a game going on, the atmosphere, and I want to be there."
For his other three visits, Drummer is looking at visiting Georgia Tech, Louisville and either Florida State or Rutgers. All but Georgia Tech and Florida State have offered.
After three games, Drummer has four sacks and his Cardinal Newman squad, which is 3-0 on the season and giving up 200 total yards per game.
