"I'd like to get up to around 245 next season," he said. "I've been working in the weight room and trying to gain more weight."
When asked about his school list -- Butch rolled them off his tongue in a programmed manner: "Wisconsin, Marquette, North Carolina, Arizona, Tennessee, Kansas, Iowa and Stanford."
But he doesn't tip his hand as to any current frontrunners.
"Nah, I really don't have a leader at all. Not right now," he said.
Butch made some appearances with the Fox Valley Skillz AAU squad last year and burst onto the national scene with his performances at the Spiece event last spring. He plans to again play with the Skillz this spring and summer.
Of the schools mentioned, Butch confirmed that many of them have put a firm scholarship offer on the table. They are as follows: Wisconsin, Marquette, Arizona, Tennessee and Iowa. He hasn't yet been given the magic words from Stanford, Kansas or North Carolina.
"I am planning to visit the campus of UNC on an unofficial visit in the spring," he said, referring to when he'll be in town for the Memorial Day Weekend Tournament of Champions on the Chapel Hill campus. The Tar Heels have expressed some interest in the sweet shooting center, as Doug Wojcik has already made at least one journey to Appleton to see Butch in action.
"They were here (back then) but I haven't heard too much from them since then. They've been in contact with my AAU coach though and I'm still getting letters and mail from there as well," Butch said.
Butch has the reputation for being a skilled and agile post player with good offensive skills. He pretty much sees himself that way as well.
"I'm kind of an inside-outside guy. I can score inside, but I can also take it away from the basket and shoot it pretty well," he said.
His self proclaimed best skill?
"My outside jump shot," Butch answered rather quickly.
