Corey Gibbs update

While most players don't divulge their favorite schools, Corey Gibbs is just the opposite.

The 6-8, 240-pound junior forward maintains that his co-leaders are Cincinnati and Alabama, and that UNC has fallen down the list.

"They're in the picture," Gibbs said of the Tar Heels. "But I'm just not receiving as much interest from them as I was. They're not recruiting me as hard as they were."

Gibbs, who averaged 24 points, 15 boards and 3 blocks per game this past season, plays for Team Georgia in AAU ball.

He didn't attend the Boo Williams tournament earlier this month so that he stays healthy for this week's event.

"I didn't want to get hurt before I go to Houston," he said. "I heard all the scouts are going to be there this week."

Gibbs has transferred from Atlanta (GA) Pace to Stone Mountain (GA) Redan.
