Are you simplifying things this year? "No. We're doing the same things as last year. We're not simplifying anything. Everybody is being thrown into the fire here, just like it has been for the last couple of years.

On the freshmen:
"The freshmen are great. The freshmen are going to come in and become a force to be reckoned with. Tyler Hansbrough is one of the biggest acquisitions that we have. He's a beast on the boards. He can score. He goes after everything hard. Danny [Green] can go left and right. He's not afraid. He's real crafty. He can shoot the ball with the best of them. Marcus Ginyard is going to be our Jackie Manuel this year. He can definitely lock down on defense, but he brings a more offensive minded approach to the game as well. Michael Copeland is definitely a big body for us that can hit the boards and get us some easy baskets."

Does this team right now remind you any of your team from a couple of years ago when a lot of your stars were freshmen?
"Yeah, yeah…in a sense. Nobody knew what to expect from us and we got off to a great start and then hit a wall. But on the other hand, with this team, I think we have enough guys who have played in enough big games that when we hit that wall it won't be the same. We may hit it and get over that one. And if we run into another one we'll be able to get over that one. My freshmen year, we didn't really know what to expect. And when we hit that wall, we stayed on that wall."

On Coach Roy Williams' approach to practice:
"He said if we continue to do what we need to do, this is one step in a long journey. He keeps putting the emphasis on, ‘We're going to practice 105 times' – just like last year when we won the national championship. After yesterday's practice, he said, ‘Well, you've got 99 more to go.' And that's the way everybody is looking at it. We're not going to come in and say we can't get to the national championship game again. That would be dumb for us, like we don't believe in ourselves. We have to come out with the same attitude that we had last year, even though we don't have the same players. I'm not saying we're going to do exactly what we did last year."
