On not being ranked in the preseason:
"I was shocked at first, but then I realized we lost seven people. I can kind of understand, but we just have to work hard. Rankings really don't mean too much, but at the same time, we really have to work hard to gain our respect back and become one of the top 25 teams."

How much was rebounding an emphasis in practice this week?
"That was definitely big, especially for the two-three men. Last week Danny [Green] and Reyshawn [Terry] didn't have any rebounds between them. Tonight they had 18 – nine apiece. So that definitely helped us a lot. We went to the boards with five guys boxing out and five guys going to the boards."

"I feel like this was a great confidence booster for us."

"We definitely have to be a whole lot more aggressive going into games. We need to do a lot better with our decision making on the court.

"We can be a great passing team. We can be a whole lot faster than a lot of teams expect us to be."

What was different about Catawba as opposed to Fayetteville State?
"They ran. They ran on the offensive end and they defended very well. We knew that they had an early jump on us, so we knew that we had to come out in the second half and adjust to that."

We're you surprised when you guys weren't ranked in the preseason?
"No, because we already knew that they were going to kind of be writing us off."

Are you guys going to surprise some people this year
"I guess so. We continue to work hard everyday in practice to show teams what we can do this year. So I definitely think we're going to surprise some teams."
