Felton expected to play in Raleigh this weekend

North Carolina signee Raymond Felton is expected to be in Raleigh this weekend for state AAU pool play.

According to NC Gaters president Vic Sapp, the future Tar Heels floor general will be joining his AAU squad for the 19-under division.

And joining Felton on the Gaters will be Phil Ford, the UNC point guard legend and former Carolina assistant coach. Ford will be an assistant coach for the Gaters.

The Gaters will play on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at Raleigh (NC) Southeast High School. They are also expected to feature some other big-time talents, such as Carmelo Anthony (Syracuse/NBA), Shawan Robinson (Clemson) and three Wake Forest signees -- Trent Strickland, Justin Gray and Richard Joyce.

Sapp said that David Noel, who will walk-on the Carolina team this fall and be a scholarship player thereafter, is playing with the Durham Eagles. The Eagles play on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Raleigh (NC) Carnage Middle School.
