|Jarrett Meadors, a running back/linebacker/punter out of Purnell Swett High School in Pembroke, North Carolina has turned a lot of heads with his awards this past season. Meadors was named North Carolina Player of the Week; All-County: Running Back and Punter; All-Conference: Running Back and Punter; and All-Region.|
his junior season Meadors had 112 carries, for 900 yards in just 8 ½ games.
His career stats on offense are: 172 carries for 1250 yards, 6 receptions
for 115 yards. His offensive explosion caused limited defensive play in
his junior season. Meadors career defensive numbers are: 108 tackles, 4
sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, and 2 blocked kicks. He also has a career punting
average of 37 yards.
Meadors also plays basketball, tennis, and runs track for the Rams.
Meadors plans to register for several
college-sponsored summer football camp. He will attend Virginia's camp,
and plans to attend Arkansas' camp, but has not locked that one down yet.
He may attend a third camp, but the Arkansas camp and third camp depend
on which schools have expressed the greatest interest by summer.
Meadors says that Virginia is recruiting the hardest at this point and that all schools are recruiting him as a running back except for Maryland, who likes him as a linebacker.
As a side note, Meadors is already fully qualified, but that comes as no surprise. His father is the Chancellor at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and his brother will enroll this summer at the Naval Acedemy.
