Butler High School head coach, Barry Shuford told Inside Carolina, "Corey is working hard to become a consistent player and leader at quarterback. Arm strength appears to have improved. Corey could develop into a college quaterback in the right system with continued hard work. He is a tough nosed kid that stands in the pocket and makes things happen."

During his junior season Rush attempted 106 passes, completing 54 of those passes for 626 yards, 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

Rush plans to attend several college-sponsored summer football camp. On his list are: Illinois, Kansas, North Carolina, Valdosta State . His high school team also plans to attend the Elon Football Team Camp.

Rush has heard from numerous schools at this point to include: Colorado, East Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kansas State, Missiouri, North Carolina, Rutgers, Temple, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, and Valdosta State.

Rush says that Kansas State is recruiting the hardest at this point. He lists his top four as Kansas State, North Carolina, Illinios and Valdosta State.
