On his game today
"I played alright. I didn't play my best game. Defensively they are real physical. They double down a lot and my teammates hit a lot of shots."
On receiving a lot of attention from the Kentucky fans
"I was expecting it especially since I was recruited by Kentucky. They (UK) were one of my top-five schools. The attention is expected anywhere on the road we were just glad to get the win."
On his career high 25-point, seven-rebound performance against the Wildcats
"The past couple of games I have really been struggling offensively. I knew that I would have to come to play tonight in a big road game against a top-10 team. I had to come out and be more aggressive tonight. We were just moving the ball real well in our motion offense and I got some good looks."
On the performance against the 10th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats
"In the past when we came up here, we would get a good lead on them, but would let them back in the game and they ended up winning. We didn't want to go in and make the same mistakes we did in the past. I think we did a great job of keeping our poise today. Coach Williams just told us to keep our poise and everything will fall into place. Coach emphasizes rebounding a lot in practice. We knew we had to stay on the boards. We have to come out and be aggressive every night."
On his 12-point performance
"I had been shooting the ball real well in practice all year and I didn't get any looks against Illinois. My teammates found me tonight and I have a lot of confidence in shooting the ball. They found me in good spots and I was able to knock down a couple shots."
On shooting crucial free-throws late in the game
"I was just thinking that I needed to step up and make these free-throws. I feel real confident shooting from the free-throw line because I shoot over 90-percent in practice. I missed the first two shots and thanks to a lane violation I was able to knock down at least one."
On playing in front of 23,860 fans in Rupp Arena
"I think we were just focused. The coaching staff prepared us real well this week for this game. We just wanted to prove we could play with anyone. We had a tough loss to Illinois at our place and to be able to bounce back and beat Kentucky in Rupp Arena is just big for us."
How did you prepare the team in the second half?
"I just told them, ‘Look, they're going to make a run. All we have to do is just keep our head and do what we have to do – execute, and continue to play the basketball that we had been playing in the first half. I told them if we did that, we would be there in the end."
On Rupp Arena going quiet at times today
"Yeah, that doesn't happen often, but we were able to do it and take the crowd out of the game."
On his dunk
"I just felt really good today. I tried one in the first half, but I didn't get up high enough. But once I got warmed up during the game, I got an open look and was able to finish."
On the win
"It felt good to be rewarded for our effort today."
On UK's run to start the second half
"At first it was overwhelming, but we realized it was just another game and we knew we had to come in here and do what we knew we had to do. We just had to re-focus. We knew this was going to be a game of runs and we just had to come back and make the best of it."
