Lawson Suspended

BENTON, Ky. --- Oak Hill got a big win over Canton McKinley and they did it with out their starting point guard, as Tywon Lawson didn't play for the second consecutive game.

Oak Hill's head coach, Steve Smith, declined comment on what exactly Lawson did to get the suspension, but he did say it had to do with violating school policy.

While Nolan Smith played well Friday and Saturday, it was tough to replace Lawson and Steve Smith said their games this weekend would have been much different if he were available.

"Ty makes this team go on the court and he's our leader, too," Smith said. "I'm telling you last night would've been a 30- to 40-point game if Tywon was here because he would have gotten through that press. But he made a mistake and has to deal with it."

Oak Hill will play Statesville this week and then head to Lexington, Ky. to play a pair of games. Friday they'll face off against Millersburg Military Insitute and on that Saturday they have a big match up with Harmony Christian. However Lawson will not be back by then, as the 5-foot-11 point guard will be held out until December 17th, according to his coach.
