During his junior season, Wall played both ways in his team's first five games, before an injury sidelined him for four games. He did manage to come back for the last two games of the year, but admittly, he was only about 65% when he returned. Despite the injury, Wall totaled 103 carries, for 659 yards, scoring three touchdowns in just 5 games. He also had 1 reception for 16 yards. Wall's defensive numbers were: 19 tackles, 9 solo, 1 forced fumble, and 2 interceptions.

Coach Jim Oddo told IC, "James is a versatile player both at runningback and safety. His vision at runningback is unmatched, along with his quickness and leg drive. At safety, he is a smart player in coverage and at recognizing the run. James, at his size, would be an exceptional student athlete at the next level. Not only is he an athlete, but he is the leader of our team, which made it to the post season last season."

Wall also plays basketball and runs track.

Wall has heard from a number of schools at this point, to include: East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Elon, Furman, North Carolina and Western Carolina.
