Decision Time Set For Aleric Mullins

Aleric Mullins wrapped up his final official visit -- to North Carolina -- on Sunday. He is planning to make his decision on Monday evening and will then announce on national television on Wednesday afternoon. (Story updated Monday at 4 p.m.)

But for now, mum is the word from the Mullins camp.

"I have talked to him," East Wake coach Jimmy Williams said early this morning. "There's no word. He's really torn. He's got some very, very good people at each school he really likes – whether it's Dan Brooks at UT, Kenny [Browning] at Carolina or Don Dunn over at Auburn.

"He'll probably decide this afternoon, but he's just unsure right now. He likes every place. He's going to go home and talk to his parents.

"Right now it's the same as it was, but he did enjoy the visit [to UNC]. He did enjoy it."

Despite a report elsewhere, Mullins did not receive an in-home visit from Tennessee on Sunday night.

"That did not happen," Williams said.

As for the announcement, the plan is for a signing ceremony on Wednesday morning at East Wake High School.

"It's Wednesday at 1:30 on ESPNU," Williams confirmed to Inside Carolina on Monday afternoon. "We will sign the letter of intent Wednesday morning here at school. And then we'll have a thing at 8 a.m. with some reporters. He still will not announce, but [the reporters] will talk to him, and the other two guys we have committed, and our two biggest junior recruits. Mullins will be there to field questions, but will not announce where he has picked until 1:30."

Mullins will then drive to ESPN studios in Charlotte that afternoon and announce his decision live on national television.

Stay tuned to Inside Carolina for coverage of the announcement.
