2008 Intro: Carl Brooks

Carl Brooks projects as a safety in college but he plays both sides of the ball for East Wake and is a leader on special teams.

"Carl is a playmaker," explained East Wake assistant coach Chad Davenport. "He is always around the ball."

The statistics back up the coach's claim, as Brooks rushed for 191 yards on 50 carries (2 TDs), caught 10 passes for 143 yards (1 TD), had 4 interceptions (1 TD), forced fumbles, recovered fumbles, and even blocked a couple of kicks.

Brooks is a longtime fan of NC State, but he is also looking at (and hearing from) Georgia, UNC, Duke, Maryland, Alabama, Notre Dame, and Missouri.

"I like State and Georgia the most right now," Brooks said. "I'm sure I will be looking at some other schools as well the other local schools."
