While the media focuses on Cox, college coaching staffs haven't forgotten about Snelling. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound tailback is seeing plenty of recruiting attention coming his way.
"I get letters from N.C. State, and Virginia, and some from Maryland and [North] Carolina," said Snelling. "ECU seems close to offering."
Last weekend, Snelling attended N.C. State's junior day and will be making future unofficial visits to both Florida and East Carolina, among other schools.
Despite the lack of scholarship offers, Snelling has singled out two ACC schools as his co-leaders.
"[My favorites are] probably Virginia and N.C. State," said Snelling. "They send me the most stuff."
A three-year starter, Snelling rushed for a total of 3,146 yards and 37 touchdowns during his junior and sophomore seasons. Last season he averaged 11.39 yards per carry on 148 rushes.
