Sturdivant Enjoys Jr Day

West Stanly High School quarterback Quan Sturdivant was among the many prospects attending North Carolina's Junior Day on Saturday in Chapel Hill.

Sturdivant holds an offer from the Tar Heels and he liked what he saw during his visit.

"I really liked it," he said. "I was there from around 9:30 in the morning until about 3:00 in the afternoon. We watched the practice. After that, we had something to eat and Coach Bunting gave us a little talk."

Sturdivant also got a feel for Chapel Hill while he was in town.

"I really liked the atmosphere at Carolina," he said. "I liked the atmosphere and I liked the coaches."

The Oakboro, N.C. standout isn't near making a decision yet about his college future and is unsure if he will attend anymore junior days. He also says he does not have a leader.

"UNC and NC State have offered," he noted. "I think Virginia may be about to offer as well. I plan to camp at UNC and NC State. I might go to Virginia as well."

After Sturdivant returned from his Junior Day visit he caught some of the UNC-Duke basketball game.

"I watched some of the game and I was pulling for Carolina," he said.

Sturdivant is currently in the midst of baseball season at West Stanly.
