Randall Meets New OL Coach

Class of 2006 signee Morgan Randall won't enroll at North Carolina until this summer, but he stopped by Chapel Hill last weekend to meet the Tar Heels' new offensive line coach and help UNC get a jump-start on the recruitment of the class of 2007 at Junior Day.

"I went up there to meet the new offensive line coach and spent some time talking with recruits, too," said Randall, a 6-6 lineman from Greenville (N.C.) Rose. "Coach Weber seems like a great coach. I really enjoyed talking with him.

"He is a lot like Coach Hunter in that he is more of a teacher. Some coaches just yell at you until you get it right but Coach Weber's style is more instruction. One of the things Coach Weber does that Coach Hunter did not is that he uses the sled. Coach Weber is also talking about using the chutes as well.

"I talked to some of the offensive linemen on the team and they said that they all liked Coach Weber and are glad that he is their new coach, although they miss Coach Hunter. There are some differences in the blocking scheme, but I'm not sure of what the differences are yet."

Randall also met up with fellow members of the 2006 signing class and spent some time talking with recruits at Junior Day. "I saw Deunta [Williams] and Jarrell Miller there," he said. "I tried to talk to as many recruits as I could."

Randall capped his Carolina day off by watching the UNC-Duke basketball game on television with his brother.

"It was a great win and we went out onto Franklin Street to celebrate," he said. "That was the first time I had been on Franklin Street after a big win. It was pretty wild and crazy with guys jumping over the bonfires."
