Spring practice is almost at an end. Have you done everything you wanted to get done?
"We've done everything except get the 25 second clock in. And I meant to do that this week, but we didn't do it. Then Monday got all messed up with the threatening forecast. We moved practice to Tuesday and it messed my mind up and we didn't do that, but we've done about everything else. We've really focused into being physical up front with our offensive and defensive line, and I think we've done a good job with that. We've got a great foundation to build from as we go into summer. It's going to be up to these kids now – when spring practice is officially over on Saturday – to take it to another level the leadership has got to step up in the weight room and on their own… To do things together, to bond more, to depend upon one another more and have the leadership step up; all those things are extremely important this summer. Do the right things on and off the field. I'm fully anticipating we'll have a cooperative and workman like summer. It's important for our future.

"I'm pleased with the progress of our quarterbacks, of our offensive line and I'm really pleased with the way the coaches are coaching them. I'm excited about what Coach [Andre'] Powell did with the special teams. I think we have a much better grasp on who can help us next fall. He really got us off to a head start with personnel, because we went live with special teams all spring.

"Defensively, I still wish I had more numbers on the defensive line. We're going to play this spring game with four defensive ends, two on each squad; four defensive tackles – two on each teams. So if anybody goes down, they're playing for both teams. It's going to be important we try to stay healthy and to continue to grow. Durrell Mapp didn't practice all spring due to an injury. Of course Larry Edwards missed basically the back end of it.

"But guys got plenty of reps. Garret White got a lot of reps. Richie Rich got a lot of reps (Rich walks by) and he made something with it, too.

"And in the secondary, the move of Cooter Arnold was big for us; I'm happy with that.

"And the latest move we made was moving [Joey] Bozich to fullback and he might be able to help us there."
