That "good feeling" was further achieved during an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill two weeks ago.
"The trip at Carolina was nice," said Bowman. "We visited the football facilities, visited the weight room, [and] coaches office.
"Overall impression was it was nice. I liked it. It's a nice place to play football."
During his visit, Bowman spoke with members of the coaching staff, who talked about a possible UNC scholarship offer.
"I got to talk to most of the coaching staff – Coach [Tommy] Thigpen, Coach [John] Bunting, all of the coaches," said Bowman. "They said they are supposed to be sending me [an offer] as soon as they get it typed out or mailed out."
Currently, Bowman holds offers from South Carolina, Florida, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, and East Carolina, while the coaches at Tennessee have informed him an offer is in the mail.
A pure athlete, Bowman is being recruiting for a number of positions. The Tar Heels' coaching staff would like to see the 5-foot-11, 160-pounder either at wide receiver or in the secondary.
"Carolina is looking at me for receiver and for DB," said Bowman. "I had an opportunity to go in the DB room while they were having a meeting. I got to know some of the plays and some of the defensive style they were running."
In addition to his trip to Chapel Hill, Bowman has unofficially visited South Carolina and Clemson.
