RB Jason Evans - Kennesaw, Georgia

Jason Evans plays running running back and defensive back for the Hoyas of Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. With over 20 offers, the Tar Heels are still in his top ten, and he has family in Fayetteville. Is this enough to draw Jason north to Chapel Hill?

Coach Cobleigh told Inside Carolina, "Jason is the total package. He has size, speed, and vision. He is an excellent receiver and a dominating blocker. Jason is an extremely hard worker and is easy to coach. He is a team leader, and an excellent student. Jason is a threat to score from any place on the field as a runner or receiver. He has explosive speed and then the rare second explosion. I do not know of a better back in the state (Georgia) and maybe the south."

Jason’s stats for his junior year were: 1135 yards rushing, 15 touchdowns, and an eye popping 10.7 yards per carry. On defense he registered 40 tackles and 4 interceptions.

He also runs track for the Hoyas, were he registered a 10.8 in the 100 meters and a 22 feet, 8 inches in the long jump.

Jason has received over 20 offers at this time.

As a side note, Jason comes from great bloodlines. His father, Terry, played at North Carolina Central before going on to a four year career, as a safety, with the Seattle Seahawks. Jason also has a brother who is a redshirt junior safety with the Northwestern Wildcats.

--------UPDATE--------

In a conversation with Terry Evans, he told IC "Carolina is in his top 10 schools. Things are looking up even more now that they offered his best friend(Tim Cesa). They are planning on visiting together and they are close. Paul Oliver, Jason and Tim are the best of friend. They are not in his top five but Carolina will get a good shot at him.....Remember, the whole family including his Grandmother, still lives in Fayetteville, North Carolina."

Terry also told IC that Jason could make a decision prior to the start of his senior season.
