Top Hoops Prospect To Visit UNC

The Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions, a Memorial Day Weekend AAU basketball event, draws top players to the campuses of UNC, Duke, and NC State each year, and this year is no exception. Tar Heel targets Julian Vaughn, Anthony Randolph, James Hickson, and Kevin Love will all be on hand this weekend, and one of them is taking an unofficial visit prior to the start of the 2006 event.

The Tar Heels will host Scout.com's nationally ranked number two player for an unofficial visit. Kevin Love, a 6-9, 260-pound PF will be accompanied by his whole family when he heads to Chapel Hill.

"We are going on Thursday," Love's mother confirmed late Tuesday night. "We are doing an unofficial on Thursday because Kevin's playing in that tournament."

There has been a lot of debate lately about which schools Love holds an interest. "I believe so," Love's mother responded when asked about UNC and UCLA as his finalists, "but you never know what happens between now and then--but basically for now."

Stay tuned to InsideCarolina.com for Love's comments on his visit at Tournament of Champions this weekend. Love's So-Cal All-Stars squad will play their first game Friday night in the Dean E. Smith Center at 8:00 pm against the Texas Top Prospects.
