OSU coach Pat Casey

Opening Statement
"Last night when we were up here, we didn't say a whole lot, but one of the things we did say is that we would come out and play hard and play with pride. That's something I can guarantee Oregon State will always do. You saw a bunch of guys play with heart, guts and determination on the field at Rosenblatt. We were down and brought in our closer in the 5th inning. It was a heck of a battle for us."

On senior infield
"I really fell it is the best infield defensively I've seen all year long. I've seen them do it all year long."

Shortstop Darwin Barney

On being down 5-0
"We were feeling pretty frustrated. It's not the way we wanted to start the day. We wanted to come out with vengeance. We didn't come out with the plan we wanted to. One spark can change the attitude of the team."

Was McFeely's double the spark?
"He went out there and set the tone. It only takes one person to get it going. Then everyone started hitting."

Pitcher Kevin Gunderson

On whether he would go all the way to the end of the game
"They weren't going to take me out. I was in the same situation vs. Baylor last year. I knew it was my ballgame to win or lose. They were going to leave me in there."

First Baseman Bill Rowe

On his home run in the 4th inning
"He threw me a low inside curveball, and I had a check swing. I was looking for a pitch in the zone. The home run pitch was similar to the pitch I checked swing, but a little more over the plate."
