Dunlap, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound defensive end at North Charleston (S.C.) Fort Dorchester, currently holds scholarship offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, N.C. State, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He claims all eight offering schools are equal at this time.
"I don't have any favorites," said Dunlap. "Just the schools that have offered me are my favorite schools."
While his trip to Chapel Hill will be his first, Dunlap has already gathered plenty of positives about the campus.
"I heard it's a pretty nice school and I heard they have pretty good facilities," said Dunlap.
While Dunlap says the Tar Heels aren't recruiting him as hard as some other schools, he talks to his primary recruiter at UNC, Coach Danny Pearman, fairly regularly.
"They text [message] me pretty often – Coach Pearman," said Dunlap. "[When he texts me] he's just checking up on me and seeing what's going on. We don't really talk that much. It's just ‘Hey' or what not."
During his junior season at Fort Dorchester, Dunlap collected 103 tackles (77 solo), 22 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, and scored five defensive touchdowns.
