With the graduation of Chacos and High following the 2006 season, tackle is the unit of focus along the offensive line for the 2007 recruiting class. The coaching staff will look to ink between 2-3 prospects with this class to fill holes and add depth to what will be a very young group heading into the 2007 season.

Targets With Offers
William Alvarez

6'5" 310 lbs. 5.00 Woodbridge (Va.) Hylton High School
Recently Alvarez established a top three of Miami, UNC, and Virginia Tech. He has camped at UNC and figures to visit again later this summer.

A raw player, Alvarez is quick and agile for a man his size and has the frame to add additional weight.

Thomas Edenfield

6'5" 280 lbs. 5.90 Jacksonville (Fla.) Bartram Trail High School
Edenfield is completely wide open to his scholarship offering schools, which stands at ten or so. He is in the process of a lengthy unofficial visits tour which includes the Tar Heels' camp this weekend.

Recruited by: Danny Pearman

John Elliott

6'4" 285 lbs. 5.20 East Meadow (N.Y.) High School
Elliott lists Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan, UNC, Rutgers, Virginia, and West Virginia as his final nine. He is camping in Chapel Hill this weekend.

An excellent run blocker, Elliott plays with power and strength. He also possess great footwork.

Lamar Milstead

6'5" 270 lbs. 5.10 Washington (D.C.) Coolidge High School
Following an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill earlier this summer, Milstead labeled UNC his leader. In an effort to show the campus to his parents, Milstead will be making an unofficial visit to UNC this weekend.

Milstead's long wingspan is ideal for pass blocking. He's also very intelligent, which is an overlooked attribute among lineman.

This group will return for the 2007 season completely intact, but will lose three members the following season. To ease those losses down the road, the coaching staff is considering a few position switches and will look to sign 1-2 prospects with the 2007 recruiting class.

Targets With Offers
Jaymes Brooks

6'3" 295 lbs. 4.95 Newport News (Va.) Denbigh High School
Brooks is probably looking to stay in-state, as he considers Virginia Tech his leader. UNC is still under consideration and a campus visit would help their cause.

Mike Dykes

6'4" 265 lbs. 5.00 Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills High School
Ever since UNC extended Dykes his first scholarship offer, the Tar Heels have been his leader. Other schools have since offered, but he hasn't wavered. Dykes is visiting UNC this weekend and a verbal commitment is possible.

Maurice Hampton

6'5" 295 lbs. 5.00 Hampton (Va.) Phoebus High School
Hampton is another Virginia prospect who is interested in UNC, but will more than likely stay in-state. The Heels will need a visit to give them a real shot.

Cameron Holland

6'3" 270 lbs. 4.95 Pittsburgh (Pa.) Perry Traditional High School
Holland came close to verbally committing to Pittsburgh, but has since decided to check out one more school before pulling the trigger -- UNC. He will camp at UNC, the only obstacle for Pitt, this weekend.

Khalil Latif

6'2" 280 lbs. 5.10 Midlothian (Va.) Manchester High School
Right now, Latif will be a battle between in-state schools Virginia Tech and Virginia. However, it's not a lock that Latif will stay in-state, and UNC appears to be on the outside looking in at this point.

Recruited by: Andre Powell

Stefen Wisniewski

6'3" 275 lbs. 5.10 Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic High School
The number one offensive lineman on UNC's board, Wisniewski will make an important unofficial visit to Chapel Hill the weekend of the 22nd. UNC joins Boston College, Michigan, and Penn State on Wisniewski's final four list.

A smart lineman with an excellent pedigree, Wisniewski excels at both run blocking and in pass protection.

64 Scott Lenahan 6-1285 Sr/Jr 47 (DT)
  Mike Ingersoll 6-4260 Fr/Fr NR
66 Lowell Dyer* 6-3280 So/Fr NR

At first glance, this group appears to be in great shape with only Lenahan leaving within the next two seasons. However, the rumored position switches of Stahl and Ingersoll give the coaching staff some concern with this unit. Look for the staff to only sign a top of the line center with the 2007 recruiting class.

Targets With Offers
Desmond Roberts

6'5" 265 lbs. 5.40 Gaston (N.C.) Northampton-West High School
Roberts came close to committing during UNC's three-day camp, but took a step back when he returned home. He now lists UNC, N.C. State, and Virginia Tech as his top three schools.

Extremely raw, but has a very high ceiling considering his frame and he is only 16 years old. He possesses long arms and excels at long snapping.

Recruited by: Ken Browning

T-Bob Hebert

6'3" 260 lbs. 5.05 Atlanta (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian High School
It will be very difficult for UNC to pluck Hebert out of SEC country, but he maintains he is open to all of his scholarship offering schools.

Hebert's best attributes are his mobility and competitive nature.
