25Michael Felder* 5-11 187Sr/Sr NR
37 Kendric Williams* 5-11 185Jr/Jr NR

Watkins runs out of eligibility following this season, but LeCount Fantroy, a holdover from the 2006 recruiting class, should fill that void on the depth chart.

For the most part, UNC is finished recruiting cornerbacks, but would not be opposed to adding an elite cornerback to its recruiting class.

LeCount Fantroy
5'11" 170 lbs. 4.50
New Berlin (N.Y.) Milford Prep Academy

Fantroy signed with UNC last February, but failed to fully qualify. He will prep at Milford Prep Academy and enroll at UNC in January 2007.

After earning a UNC scholarship offer from his performance during the Tar Heels' camp, Fantroy verbally committed to UNC.

A Scout.com two-star recruit, Fantroy is a versatile athlete that played just about every skill-related position for his high school -– quarterback, receiver, tailback, cornerback, safety, and returner. He was named to the All-Met team as a defensive back, and ended the season with five interceptions and ten total touchdowns.

Targets With Offers
Eric Berry

6'0" 190 lbs. 4.30 Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside High School
Berry has yet to establish a list of favorites, but holds scholarship offers from just about every school in the nation.

An amazing combination of size and speed, Berry's only negative is his lack of experience at the cornerback position.

C.J. Fleming

5'10" 165 lbs. 4.45 Highland Springs (Va.) High School
Fleming sports scholarship offers from Georgia, Louisville, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. However, he neglects to name any sort of favorites.

Fleming possesses great closing speed and nice tackling ability, especially for his size.

Marcus Gilchrist

5'11" 165 lbs. 4.45 High Point (N.C.) Andrew High School
Gilchrist has narrowed his list of schools down to Clemson, Georgia, UNC, Notre Dame, and Virginia Tech, and should be announcing his verbal commitment shortly. Clemson is a rumored frontrunner.

A shutdown style corner, Gilchrist has great closing speed and instincts. He also possesses the necessary swagger and confidence found in elite corners.

Cris Hill
5'11" 165 lbs. 4.40 Highland Springs (Va.) High School
Hill's scholarship offers sheet virtually replicates his teammate C.J. Fleming. His favorites list also is empty.

Tyrell Worthington

6'0" 185 lbs. 4.50 Winterville (N.C.) South Central High School
The last few months, Worthington has concentrated solely on his baseball season and therefore hasn't developed a list of favorites. Worthington, who is being recruited for tailback by most other schools, holds offers from Clemson, East Carolina, Louisville, N.C. State, UNC, South Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech. He will be camping at UNC this weekend.

 Kendric Burney 5-9 170Fr/Fr 48 (CB)

The UNC coaching staff is looking to sign 2-3 safeties this coming February. This unit will lose two players to graduation after the 2006 season and could use some added depth.

Jonathan Smith, who has already committed, is being recruited as a safety/athlete, but will probably need a year or two to adjust to the new position.

Jonathan Smith
6'2" 195 lbs. 4.50
Durham (N.C.) Hillside High School

Two days after being extended a scholarship offer from coach Tommy Thigpen, Smith verbally committed to UNC. Prior to that, he was verbally offered by Nebraska and garnered interest from most ACC schools.

Although Smith plays linebacker in high school, his coverage skills and athletic ability translates well to safety. He's an excellent tackler and plays well in traffic.

As a junior at Hillside High School, Smith recorded 95 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, and four sacks.

Targets With Offers
Morgan Burnett

6'2" 190 lbs. 4.55 College Park (Ga.) North Clayton High School
Although he holds scholarship offers from just about every program in the nation, Burnett has yet to establish a list of favorites.

Chris Culliver

6'1" 190 lbs. 4.35 Garner (N.C.) High School
Culliver is 2007's version of a recruit emerging onto the scene after dominating at combines. A soft commit to N.C. State, UNC is pursuing him hard, but needs to get him on campus for a legit shot. Culliver's offer list includes Alabama, Clemson, East Carolina, Florida, Florida State, UNC, N.C. State, and Wake Forest.

The first thing that stands out is Culliver's blazing straight line speed. However, he also excels in being able to stay in the hip pocket of wide receivers during one-on-one coverage.

Recruited by: Ken Browning

Emanuel Davis
5'11" 190 lbs. 4.50 Manteo (N.C.) High School
Besides UNC, Davis's only other scholarship offer is ECU, but N.C. State is very interested. While he currently lacks a leader, Davis is planning on making a verbal commitment before the start of his senior season.

Although raw in man coverage, Davis is dynamite when it comes to delivering the hit and excellent in run support.

Josh Oglesby
5'11" 200 lbs. 4.35 Garner (N.C.) High School
Oglesby will be announcing his verbal commitment Saturday afternoon between UNC, N.C. State Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. Although his father and uncle played at UNC, and he grew up a huge UNC fan, Oglesby is expected to select Virginia Tech because of the tardiness of UNC's scholarship offer.

An amazing physical specimen, Oglesby has a frame that can absorb or deliver abuse, while also possessing track speed. He is also being recruited to play tailback.

Recruited by: Ken Browning

DaNorris Searcy

6'0" 195 lbs. 4.50 Decatur (Ga.) Towers High School
Currently, Searcy lists Florida, LSU, and UNC as his top three -- all have offered. After attending camps in Gainesville and Baton Rouge, Searcy might be ready to make a verbal commitment.

Searcy could play many positions at the next level, but UNC would like to keep this speedster at safety. He plays with the speed of a cornerback but the headhunting mentality of a linebacker.
