Edenfield Will Visit This Weekend

Originally, Thomas Edenfield had planned to be a part of North Carolina's big camp weekend. However, with the confusion of moving into a new home, the Scout.com three-star prospect had to push back the visit to this coming weekend.

"I'm going this weekend, I'm leaving [Friday]," said Edenfield. "We should be leaving [Friday] heading that way. We're going to make some stops, see some family, and then we'll be up there towards North Carolina. We're probably going to end up stopping by Clemson and South Carolina on the way up there."

Edenfield, a 6-foot-5 280-pound offensive tackle from Jacksonville (Fla.) Bartram Trail, will be welcomed on campus by primary recruiter Danny Pearman.

"[Coach Pearman] just told me he wants to show me around campus and show me around Chapel Hill – he said it was nice," said Edenfield. "I have a friend up there – an ex-teammate [Zach Handerson], he's staying up there so I'll get to see him practice a little bit, [and] get him to show me around a little bit."

This weekend's trip to Chapel Hill will be Edenfield's first.

"[I want to] just get a feel for the campus and look into the academics," said Edenfield. "Meet the coaching staff, like Coach [John] Bunting."

With the recent addition of Florida State to his list of scholarship offers, Edenfield is quickly closing in on 20 tenders.

Currently, Edenfield lacks a list of favorites but figures to establish a final five after the weekend.

"I don't have any favorites right now, I haven't really narrowed it down," said Edenfield. "After this trip, I'm going to narrow it down to my top five, though."

After taking his official visits, Edenfield will make a final decision.

Before his junior season, Edenfield transferred from Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln to Bartram Trail where he and Handerson helped formed one of the better offensive lines in Florida.
