Roe Planning UNC Visit

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. --- After a great spring and an even better summer, Delvon Roe has been contacted by the majority of the high major schools and now it's time to narrow his list and start taking some visits.

The 6-7, 220-pound power forward said there are five schools locked into the narrowed-down list and there are a few others vying for the last two spots. The five schools in good shape are Michigan, Ohio State, North Carolina, Michigan State and Florida. Roe said Illinois, Virginia Tech, Miami (Fla.) and Kansas are in the running for the final two spots.

Throughout the AAU Nationals, every one of the programs listed above have been spotted at his games, with many sending their head coach. Tom Izzo, Billy Donovan and Thad Matta have all been spotted at Disney's Wide World of Sports watching Roe on a few occasions.

North Carolina, who has shown a lot of interest in Roe recently, has had two assistants at all of his games in Orlando. The Tar Heels' recent interest is intriguing to Roe and his phone conversation with Roy Williams helped them get into the mix.

"He called and said they had a lot of recruits to call, but he said he wanted to talk to me personally and the assistants were calling everyone else," Roe said.

Barring a major change in his recruitment, Roe plans on taking an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill for a football game. But the Tar Heels won't be the only school getting a visit. Roe hopes to visit Florida and Miami directly after AAU Nationals. When he gets back he plans to visit Michigan, Michigan State and OSU in mid-August.

With the visits quickly approaching, Roe already knows what he's looking for when he gets to each campus.

"I want a great atmosphere and a coach of high caliber that will act goofy and have fun, but know when to be serious, too."
