Grant to skip Big Man camp

North Carolina freshman Damion Grant is no longer going to attend a development camp next month, according to his former coach Jason Smith, of Brewster Academy.

"He isn't going to the Pete Newell Big Man Camp, because of a nagging achilles injury and due to cost," Smith said.

The prestigious camp in its 25th year, led by a legendary former coach, is attended by college and pro post players and staffed by NBA coaches. It's scheduled for Aug. 12-16 in Honolulu, Hawaii and registration requires a $1,050 fee.

"He will more than likely attend in the future," Smith said, "but not this summer."
