Wisniewski Eyeing Official Dates

Scout.com four-star prospect Stefen Wisniewski has claimed a solid favorites list for a few months now. The next logiical step for the 6-foot-3, 275-pound offensive guard is to schedule official visits.

"I haven't talked to [the schools] yet, but I have some games [in mind]," said Wisniewski. "I'm thinking maybe North Carolina on the 9th [of September versus Virginia Tech]; BC on September 16th [versus BYU]; Penn State for the Michigan game [October 14th]; and Michigan when they play Michigan State [October 7th]."

Wisniewski, a product of Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic, mentioned that there is no method to the order of those games/dates.

After taking all four of his official visits, Wisniewski should be ready to make a verbal pledge.

"I'd like to get it out of the way before the state playoffs," said Wisniewski. "Hopefully we'll be in that and a very strong team. And if we're in [the playoffs] I'd like to have it out of the way by then."

While the preparation for the coming season has kept Wisniewski off the phone, the Tar Heels' coaching staff keeps up with the lineman through text messages.

"They text me daily, but I haven't talked to them about [official visits]," said Wisniewski. "[They're texts include] nothing important, just the regular stuff."

Central Catholic opens the 2006 season on September 2nd against Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway. Wisniewski will start at both offensive tackle and defensive tackle.

During his junior season, Wisniewski earned first team Class AAAA Associated Press All-State, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review "Terrific 25" and All-WPIAL honors for his play on the offensive line. On defense he recorded 64 tackles including ten for losses and six sacks.
