Dunlap Still Waiting It Out

Carlos Dunlap had originally planned to spend most of his summer visiting schools and then establish a list of favorites. The Scout.com three-star defensive end has since decided to wait the season out before naming a top five.

"I'm going to look at [my offering schools] during the season and then decide on which ones I want to take [official] visits to," said Dunlap. "In the middle of the season I'll name the ones I'll visit."

Dunlap, a 6-foot-5 225-pounder from North Charleston (S.C.) Fort Dorchester, will take his official visits after his senior season, which is taking precedence.

With no recent additions to his scholarship offers list, Dunlap holds the same eight offers – Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, NC State, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

"Right now, I'm considering everybody," said Dunlap. "I haven't eliminated anybody."

Although communication has slowed with schools, Dunlap still hears from North Carolina.

"[Coach Danny Pearman] texts me and I get letters from them," said Dunlap.

Dunlap revealed, though, that he hears the most from Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

During the summer, Dunlap did unofficially visit South Carolina and is planning to scope out Florida next weekend.

This Friday, Dunlap's senior season kicks off against Goose Creek (S.C.) where he will start at defensive end and wide receiver.

During his junior season, Dunlap collected 103 tackles (77 solo), 22 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, and scored five defensive touchdowns.
